Email CyRev. Cyrus "Cy" Dawsey Rogers, the third son of missionaries Will and Agnes Rogers, has been the Minister at Bethesda since 2000. During this time, Cy has introduced a contemporary praise service, overseen a building expansion program, and developed an active youth program. Cy believes that a church should provide an "umbrella of care" to its members and surrounding community, and focuses upon strengthening the church by encouraging small groups and personal relationships. In his words, "It is the church family, and the Lordship of Jesus Christ that matters most; it is all about God!"
As a son of the missionary parents, Cy grew up in Brazil and lived for a year in the Amazon. He graduated from The Citadel and earned a civil engineering degree at Clemson University before entering the seminary at Erskine. A minister for 21 years, he enjoys writing and painting and flying airplanes. Cy is known for his hugs, his ability to bring people together, and his listening. His wife, Lou, is active in the choir and United Methodist Women and enjoys visiting with Cy. She is the daughter of the late John and Mary Wingo and worked as a nationally certified addictions counselor and Clinical Supervisor for many years.
Cy and Lou have two daughters, Rachel Rogers and Sarah Rogers Shelton, and a wonderful son-in-law, Andy

My name is Lisa Seffrin. I am married to Mike Seffrin and we have been blessed with four amazing children: Brandon, Will, Turner and Mili Claire.
I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in School and Community Health Education. While my original education was health based, I found that I was led to use my abilities to focus on spiritual health and use my teaching skills to glorify God by educating His children.
I have been involved with Christian ministry since 2000. I worked with the children and youth of First United Methodist Church in Laurinburg, NC, for four years. Upon moving to the Powdersville area, I started working for Bethesda in 2005 as the Children’s Coordinator.
I have found my experiences in Christian ministry to be incredibly rewarding. As my service continues, I am regularly in awe of what God can do through His children. I greatly appreciate this opportunity to serve Him and His little ones. This call, this charge that I have been given I do not take lightly. It is my mission and with the utmost respect—I educate for Him.
Email JuneI have been married to Ron for 40 years. I am Mom to Melissa Clary and Erin Ross; Mother-in-law to Sammy and Jason; Nana to Isaac, Breana, and Braely, my loves.
Before coming to Bethesda as Administrative Assistant in May 1987, my education and profession were secretarial and bookkeeping in the healthcare field. I worked in medical records at the old Greenville General Hospital, and then as secretary/bookkeeper for a doctor and later in a nursing home.
At Bethesda, I feel part of the ministry team. Doing God's work with dedicated people continues to be fulfilling in my professional life, but most of all, in my spiritual and personal life. I am truly blessed to have a small part in the ministry of Bethesda United Methodist Church.
