Room for everyone, a role for everyone.

At Bethesda, we believe that everyone has a gift to contribute as we serve the Lord. Our standard organized fellowships and ministries are listed below. Acolyte
Teams of two young people who light the worship candles and help take up the offering. Service is rotated among all trained acolytes.

Altar Guild
Team prepares communion and helps make the worship experience more meaningful.

Children's Music
Team teaches and helps children to sing, selects music, and coordinates special presentations during the Sunday morning worship services.

Children's Team
Team develops and carries out programs for children.

Choir
Performs during Traditional Worship service and during one or two special presentations each year.

Crisis Response
Team coordinates and responds to the special needs of those who have suffered a crisis.

Compassion Team
Support group helps those who cannot help themselves. Services include minor repairs and providing transportation to those who need it.

Evangelism Team
Team is responsible for informing people of the ministries and opportunities of Bethesda,
effectively communicating the Gospel, and bringing new people into the church life.

GAIHN
Greenville Area Interfaith Hospitality Network. Four times per year, Bethesda becomes the host and home for families who at the time have no house of their own. Opportunities include preparing meals, hosting meals, visiting or staying with guests, preparing the church, and cleaning up.

Greeter
Before Sunday morning worship, this group greets visitors and church members alike. Teams rotate service.

Health
Group is involved in all segments of health ministries, including a community health fair, screenings, blood pressure checks, and education.

Leisure Group
A seniors group who meet on the last Tuesday of every month, 6:30 for supper and fellowship. Two or three yearly trips.

Media Team
Team is responsible for running the sound booth and taping services.

Missions
This group coordinates the mission outreach teams of Bethesda.

Nursery Team
This team is in charge of the nursery.

Office Helper
Assist church staff with office operations.

Praise Music Team
This group leads our praise service with contemporary music and a high energy presentation.

Prayer Team
Group meets Thursday morning at 7:00-7:30 a.m. for prayer breakfast.

Salkehatchie
This team raises funds for, and then spends a week in a summer camp fixing up houses for the poor.

Special Projects
This team works on special projects for the ministry of the church.

Tape Ministry
Team duplicates and distributes tapes of the Sunday morning service to shut-ins.         

Sunday School Teacher
We try to do this on the team basis, one week on, one week off.

United Methodist Men's Fellowship
Meets first Monday of month at 7:00 p.m. for fellowship and super. This group also is responsible for the annual church Chicken Barbecue.

United Methodist Women
Ladies' group. Three present circles: Susanna Wesley Circle (Morning Circle), Mary-Martha Circle (Evening Circle), and Fellowship Circle (Young Ladies Circle). All circles meet once a month for fellowship and ministries.

Usher
During the worship services, helps to seat people, distribute and greet people, and take the offering. Teams rotate service.

Wedding Team
Informs, coordinates, and oversees marriages performed at Bethesda.

Vacation Bible School          
Spectacular week-long summer program for children. Bible study, crafts, fellowship, music, and recreation. All children 4 years to sixth grade welcome.

Youth Worker          
Helps with the youth program and works with Bethesda's youth.
